When searching for new Yoga Clothing there are a few things you should consider: The 6am test: Here at the abi and joseph office we often talk to our customers about “the 6am test”. Would you naturally gravitate towards it when running out the door to your early morning Yoga Class? Does it make you feel good? Is it flattering? If the style is highly fashionable but would take a 3 week detox in Thailand and two coats of spray tan to muster the confidence to wear it, it may not be worth the purchase. Feel the Base: If purchasing a yoga outfit for the first time make sure you invest in quality, multifunctional basics which will take you from class to café with ease. A perfectly fitting Yoga tank and Supplex Leggings are a stylish combination of fashion and performance. Complete your outfit with a heavy jacket or Hoody for your warm up and cool down. Ain't Nothing Gonna Break My Stride: If you have purchased your Yoga clothing online, make sure you have tried it on before hitting the studio. Bend, stretch and squat in your pants to ensure that they are not too firm or too loose. It is imperative your garments fit well as you will be wearing them time and time again. Look for garments with four way stretch for total freedom of movement. If you have purchased a new Yoga Top, make certain the length in the torso is adequate, the armholes are not too tight and movement is not restricted. You don’t want to be adjusting your new yoga clothing whilst saluting the sun. Plan ahead: When purchasing yoga clothing, whether it is a Yoga Camisole, Bikram Yoga Shorts, or cropped pants take into consideration which activities you will be undertaking. If you are going to be working up a sweat in a hot yoga class, choose fabrics that are moisture wicking, fast drying and odour resistant and avoid cotton which becomes heavy with sweat. For those practising Hatha, choose yoga pants and tops in lightweight, soft, stretchy fabrics such as viscose elastane. |
